Friday the 20th of January was the official opening of the new Heat Treatment Control Room (HTCR) which started in 2021. The purpose of this new control room is to improve collaboration, work flow and also the physical and digital environment.
The office interior is modern and stylish. On one wall there are large screens, providing detailed information about the Heat treatment furnaces, and on the opposite side of the screens is a large table where the shift teams can gather and plan together without any rumbling noise.

At the opening, Helen Welin, David Blecko and Alvaro Cordova each give an overall presentation of the project and its functions today. They emphasize that the room is for a better, safer and easier environment to work in. In the new control room, the large screens display an overview of the entire heat treatment.
Alvaro shows off the different stations in HTCR. Navigation systems and real time cameras are in place to facilitate the shift teams. Then he picks up his phone to show that there is also a mobile-friendly solution for monitoring temperatures, trends and alarms.
The user has always been the focus point of the project. All systems used by the operators are gathered in one place. The user receives the right information at the right time to be able to make the right decision.
With the opening work will be based on HTCR to the greatest extent possible. Starting last Monday, the shift teams from HTCR meet in the new control room.
Finally, Helen, David and Alvaro thank everyone involved for all their dedication and cooperation during the course of the project.
