Sustainable Materials Exhibition

ASSAB made debut at the highly anticipated Sustainable Materials Exhibition, held at Makuhari Messe, Japan from October 29 to 31, 2024. The event brought together an impressive 47,000 visitors over three days, underscoring a growing global commitment to sustainability and eco-conscious materials.

ASSAB booth at Sustainable Materials Exhibition

As a first-time exhibitor in the sustainability space, ASSAB strategically shifted its focus from traditional clientele – mould makers and moulding companies – to directly engage end-users. This approach allowed the company to spotlight its pioneering sustainability initiatives and encourage end-users to advocate for environmentally friendly materials within their industries. This outreach proved successful, drawing significant interest from various sectors, including the beverage, apparel, and automotive industries.

The highlight of ASSAB’s booth was the delightful cellulose-based plastic sake cups. Made from eco-friendly materials that can be disposed of as burnable waste, these cups received an enthusiastic response from attendees and underscored our dedication to sustainability. By showcasing the mould made of Stavax® ESR alongside these cups, ASSAB effectively conveyed the benefits of utilizing high-quality tool steel in sustainable moulding practices, even for those who may not have prior knowledge of the steel industry.

The exhibition ultimately provided ASSAB with invaluable exposure, fostering brand recognition and connecting the company with industry leaders and enthusiasts eager to adopt sustainable practices. The strong turnout and positive reception of ASSAB’s initiatives signal an encouraging shift towards sustainable practices in industrial manufacturing.
